
Dr. Matthew Ruel
Dr. Matthew Ruel is originally from Miami, FL. He completed medical school and residency training in anesthesiology at The University of Miami School of Medicine, graduating in 2008. Dr. Ruel’s interest in aesthetic medicine spans over a decade, he began training with aesthetic injectables while still in Miami and has continued working with nationally recognized expert injectors since moving to Kauai in 2012.
When not practicing anesthesia or aesthetic medicine, Dr. Ruel and his wife Dr. Jennifer White can generally be found chasing after their twin boys August and Rowan (whose supply of energy is limitless).
Taylor Specht, RN
Meet Taylor, our lead injector at Aloha Med Spa. Originally from Arizona, Taylor has made Kauai her new home, bringing extensive expertise and passion for aesthetics. With a rich background as an aesthetic RN in Scottsdale and experience in the pediatric ICU, Taylor is renowned for her meticulous attention to detail and holistic approach to patient care. At our spa, she aims to ensure comfort and safety, offering personalized treatment plans that preserve natural beauty while incorporating the latest techniques and safest methods learned from top injectors. We are thrilled to have Taylor on our team, where she excels in facial balancing, Sculptra, neurotoxin treatments, and more. Amanda Gonsalves
Amanda graduated from Penrose Academy in 2020 and spent the first three years of her career working for one of the most successful medical spas in Scottsdale—ranking in the top 5 for Vivace and Virtue and top 500 for Allergan. Her passion for beauty, health, and wellness runs incredibly deep, and her goal is to educate while providing optimal skincare guidance for all patients, no matter where they are on their personal skin journey. Amanda has advanced training in procedures such as medical grade facials, microneedling with radio frequency, traditional microneedling, chemical peels, and laser hair reduction. Prior to her aesthetics training, she graduated from Western Oregon University with her Bachelor’s degree in Community Health Education and a Minor in Human Biology. Aside from all things skin, you will find Amanda at country concerts, working out, or at the beach. Additionally, she is a group exercise instructor at the Playground, bringing her enthusiasm for health and fitness into every session.
Kalie Lyle
We’re excited to introduce Kalie Lyle, our dynamic Chief Operating Officer, dedicated to ensuring your experience with us is nothing short of seamless and exceptional.Originally from the sun-drenched deserts of Arizona, Kalie earned her degree in Business Management and Marketing on a full-ride Volleyball Scholarship. Her athleticism and discipline on the court translated into a successful career in the aesthetics industry, where she has developed a deep expertise in Marketing.
Outside of her professional life, Kalie is passionate about working out, playing volleyball, and exploring new destinations. Now on a new adventure in Hawaii, she's ready to contribute her knowledge and energy to our collective success.


Erika Hall
We’re thrilled to welcome Erika Hall, our dedicated Front Desk Receptionist, who brings warmth, passion, and a genuine love for skincare to our Aloha Med Spa ’ohana. Born and raised on Kaua’i, Erika has always had a deep-rooted interest in skin health and a growing curiosity for dermatology and advanced skincare treatments. With a natural ability to connect with others, Erika is excited to continue learning and growing in the aesthetics field alongside our talented team. Her positive energy and drive for knowledge make her an integral part of creating a welcoming and supportive experience for every client who walks through our doors. Outside of the spa, you’ll find Erika enjoying the island life—whether it’s relaxing at the beach or spending time with her family, friends, and two beloved dogs.
