Aloha Med Spa offers a comprehensive portfolio of treatments for common skin concerns as well as specific aesthetic goals.
Neurotoxins
Neurotoxin treatments at Aloha Med Spa are a versatile solution for various aesthetic and functional concerns. These injectable treatments work by temporarily blocking nerve signals to targeted muscles, allowing them to relax. This process is used not only for enhancing facial aesthetics, such as performing lip flips and masseter injections for jawline contouring, but also for treating conditions like hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). The effects of these treatments typically last between 3 to 6 months, offering a significant period of improvement. Explore the broad range of applications for neurotoxin treatments at Aloha Med Spa and experience expert care tailored to your needs.

Neurotoxin treatments may be a great option for adults who want to soften the appearance of expression lines, create subtle facial refinement, or address concerns related to muscle activity.
At Aloha Med Spa, neurotoxin may be used for a variety of aesthetic and therapeutic concerns, including:
- Forehead lines – Softens the appearance of horizontal lines caused by repeated facial expressions.
- Frown lines – Helps relax the muscles between the brows that contribute to a tired, tense, or concerned appearance.
- Crow’s feet – Softens lines around the outer corners of the eyes caused by smiling and squinting.
- Lip Flip – Relaxes a small amount of muscle around the upper lip to create a subtle, more relaxed appearance of the lip without adding volume.
- Masseter & TMJ – Neurotoxin can be injected into the masseter muscles to reduce muscle activity and tension. For appropriate patients, this may help with muscle-related jaw tension, clenching, or TMJ symptoms while also creating a more tapered lower-face appearance.
- “Sad Face” Correction – Targeted treatment of muscles that pull the corners of the mouth downward can create a more lifted, relaxed appearance around the lower face.
- Nefertiti Neck Lift – Strategic injections along the platysma bands and jawline can relax downward-pulling muscles and create a more defined, lifted appearance along the jawline and neck.
- Microtox – A more superficial technique that may be used to create a subtle improvement in the appearance of fine lines, pores, and skin texture.
- Hyperhidrosis – Neurotoxin can be used to temporarily reduce excessive sweating in appropriate treatment areas.
Neurotoxin treatments are highly customizable. Your provider will assess your facial anatomy, muscle movement, and individual goals to determine which areas may benefit from treatment.
The goal isn't to change who you are, it’s to strategically soften muscle activity and create a refreshed, balanced, natural-looking result..

Neurotoxins such as Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, and Jeuveau® work by temporarily reducing the nerve signals that tell specific muscles to contract. When the targeted muscles relax, the appearance of lines and wrinkles caused by repetitive movement is softened.
Because neurotoxin works on muscle movement rather than adding volume, it can also be strategically used to refine certain facial features and address concerns such as masseter tension, TMJ-related muscle activity, a downward-pulling mouth, or platysma activity along the neck.
Treatment is performed with a very fine needle and typically takes only a short amount of time. Most patients experience minimal downtime and can return to their normal activities shortly after treatment.
Results develop gradually. You may begin noticing changes within a few days, with results continuing to develop over approximately two weeks. Results are temporary, and the longevity of your treatment will vary based on the area treated, product used, dosage, muscle activity, and your individual metabolism.
Our goal is to use the appropriate amount of neurotoxin to create a natural, refreshed appearance while preserving your ability to express yourself.

Neurotoxin treatments should always be performed by a qualified medical professional who understands facial anatomy and injection technique.
Before your treatment, be sure to tell your provider about your medical history, medications, supplements, allergies, previous injectable treatments, and any medical conditions that may affect your treatment.
Neurotoxin may not be appropriate for everyone. Your provider will determine whether treatment is right for you based on your health history, medications, treatment area, and individual goals.
Temporary side effects can include:
- Redness or swelling at the injection site
- Bruising or tenderness
- Mild headache
- Temporary discomfort
- Temporary muscle weakness
- Eyelid or brow drooping
- Temporary facial asymmetry
Although uncommon, more serious side effects can occur. Botulinum toxin can rarely spread beyond the injection area and cause symptoms such as generalized muscle weakness, difficulty swallowing, difficulty speaking, or difficulty breathing. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience these symptoms following treatment.
Neurotoxin should not be administered into areas with an active skin infection, and treatment may need to be postponed depending on your individual circumstances.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, planning to become pregnant, or have a neuromuscular condition, discuss this with your provider before treatment.
During your consultation, we will review your medical history, discuss your goals, and determine whether neurotoxin is an appropriate option for you.

Neurotoxin and dermal filler are both injectable treatments, but they work in completely different ways.
Neurotoxin relaxes muscle. It temporarily reduces the activity of specific muscles, making it ideal for dynamic wrinkles and other concerns related to muscle movement. Neurotoxin may also be strategically used for areas such as the masseters, jawline, lower face, and neck.
Dermal filler adds volume. Fillers are designed to restore or enhance volume beneath the skin. They can be used to enhance areas such as the lips, cheeks, chin, jawline, and temples or to soften certain areas of volume loss.
A simple way to remember the difference:
Neurotoxin = relaxes muscle
Dermal filler = adds or restores volumeFor example, if you have forehead lines that become more prominent when you raise your eyebrows, neurotoxin may be appropriate because muscle movement is contributing to those lines. If you have volume loss in your cheeks or lips and want to restore or enhance that volume, dermal filler may be more appropriate.
Some patients may benefit from neurotoxin, filler, or a combination of both. Your provider will evaluate your facial structure, movement, and goals to create a treatment plan specifically for you.
